Dartfish

19 Years at the Intersection of Innovation, Sport and International Business Development

For nearly two decades, I contributed to the growth of Dartfish, a pioneering Swiss company specialising in video analysis technologies for sport. This professional and personal journey led me to develop international markets, lead multicultural teams and build lasting partnerships across the global sports ecosystem.

The Dartfish Journey: From Innovation to International Expansion

The Dartfish Journey: From Innovation to International Expansion

In 2000, I joined Dartfish, a young Swiss company developing innovative video analysis technologies for sport. It was the beginning of a journey that would last nearly twenty years and profoundly shape my professional career.

My first year was largely dedicated to a strategic assessment of our approach to the market: should we organise our commercial development by sporting discipline or adopt a geographical approach? This analysis helped guide our organisation towards a division of responsibilities initially by continent and, progressively, by country.

This evolution marked the beginning of a new phase, during which I contributed to the expansion of our international operations, the development of our presence across different markets and the establishment of lasting relationships with stakeholders throughout the sports industry.

Over the years, my responsibilities evolved alongside Dartfish's growth, in an environment combining technological innovation, business development and a passion for sport.

Developing Markets, Leading Teams

Developing Markets, Leading Teams

After contributing to the development of our commercial organisation, I gradually assumed greater responsibility for expanding Dartfish's European operations.

As Regional Director for Europe, I led an organisation covering Southern Europe, German-speaking markets, the United Kingdom and the Nordic countries, working through a network of country managers and local teams.

Beyond business development, my role involved setting strategic priorities, supporting teams, developing partnerships and ensuring the financial performance of the operations under my responsibility.

This experience enabled me to combine strategic vision with operational management across diverse cultural and commercial environments.

Innovation Driving Sports Performance

Innovation Driving Sports Performance

At Dartfish, technological innovation only made sense when it addressed real-world needs. Video analysis opened up new opportunities for coaches, athletes, federations and sports organisations.

Over the years, I contributed to the commercial development and deployment of video analysis solutions across different sporting disciplines. One of the main challenges was to adapt these technologies to the specific requirements of users, whether analysing a technical movement, supporting training or improving performance assessment.

This approach relied on close collaboration between development teams, commercial managers and practitioners in the field. Working directly with federations, coaches and sports organisations, I helped identify emerging needs, define suitable applications and introduce them to international markets.

This experience reinforced my conviction that successful innovation depends as much on understanding users' needs as on the quality of the technology itself.

Key Achievements

Key Achievements

Beyond developing European markets, my years at Dartfish were marked by several commercial transformation initiatives and new business development projects.

In particular, I helped European and Asian teams transition from a perpetual software licensing model towards an approach based on recurring revenue, strategic account management and customer retention.

This approach delivered results: Dartfish notably recognised the excellent customer retention and profitability achieved in Europe, to which my initiatives directly contributed.

During my final years, as Head of New Business and a member of the management team, I also contributed to the company's strategic repositioning by developing a business plan focused on new commercial opportunities around Knowledge Selling and the development of value-added services.

These achievements demonstrate my ability to support business transformation, develop new business models and combine strategic vision with operational results.

A Defining Professional Experience

These nineteen years at Dartfish profoundly shaped my approach to business development, management and commercial strategy.

They taught me how to navigate demanding international environments, support business transformation, bring multicultural teams together and build lasting relationships with partners whose expectations and needs varied widely.

Above all, they reinforced one essential conviction: the success of any project depends on the ability to combine strategic vision, market understanding and genuine human commitment.

Even today, this experience remains one of the foundations of my professional approach: turning opportunities into tangible projects, developing organisations and creating sustainable long-term value.
